Dr. Hollie Huynh, OD
Dr. Hollie Huynh (pronounced "win") began her professional education graduating from University of California, Irvine in 2000 earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences. She advanced to a private school and graduated in 2004 from New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston, Massachusetts. At NECO she balanced her academic and social life by being a Student Advisor, being very active as a member of the student council board, and winning grants for “Excellence in Clinical Presbyopia Management”. She served the public during internships at Fresno Veterans Hospital and Joslin Diabetes Center, and also completed a rotation learning how to treat specialized populations inlcuding geriatrics, pediatrics, Multiple Schlerosis, Down's Syndrome, traumatic brain injury and others. Her extensive knowledge of Diabetes management stems from her experience working along side renowned ophthalomogists at Joslin Diabetic center. Dr. Huynh is board certified to practice Pharmaceutical Agent Therapeutics. Her specialty is in family practice with an emphasis in Pediatric Optometry and Corneal Reshaping Therapy (which reshapes your eye surface while wearing nightly contacts allowing you to go about your business free from contacts or glasses during the day). Dr. Huynh is an Associate and Co-Manager for The Laser Center (TLC), Long Beach Laser Eye Center, and Feinerman Vision Center. She is responsible for the proper selection of candidates for laser or cataract surgery, helping to provide proper pre- and post-operation exams ensure the entire surgical process runs smoothly for her patients. She works closely with her patients often attending the surgery personally to make sure her matching of a surgeon to her patient works best with for their needs. Gaining experience quickly by working in both retail and private settings, Dr. Huynh independently established Eastgate Optometry Care. As the founder of Eastgate Optometry Care she was responsible for the location selection, construction, design and introduction of the practice entirely herself. She strives to help patients see their best and exceed their expectations by treating her patients as a part of her family. Her goal is to help patients understand their eyes enough to maintain their eye health as needed for their active lifestyles. She wants to offer her patients the most current vision technology with quality friendly service. By using advanced technology and keeping updated on the newest optical products she is able to provide patients with the latest in vision care. Dr. Huynh balances her life with hobbies such as running, playing softball, enjoying broadway shows, playing Wii video games, and most importantly spending quality time with her family and friends. Her favorite Major League Baseball Team is the Boston Red Sox. She enjoys cooking for friends and family and experimenting with new dishes and welcomes conversation to exchange new recipes. . Kathy has 3 years of optician experience and is dedicated to the enjoyment and fulfillment of helping people see a clearer world. Kathy likes the satisfaction of finding frames that fit her patients facial structure, primarily by seeing the smiles on their faces. She is talented in contact lens training and possesses great patience which is sometimes required when teaching her patient's how to use contact lenses for the first time. Kathy has one dog named Mowgli and in her spare time she takes strolls down to the beach, hangs out with friends and family, loves to catch comedy’s at the movie theater, as well as catching a concert every once in a while. And believe it or not, Kathy enjoys singing karaoke. So next time you are in the office, make sure to say hello to Kathy because you never know, she may be your next American Idol.
Joselyn Sanchez
Joselyn has been working with Dr. Huynh since April 2009. She is a hard working, ambitious young lady who is a joy to be around. She is the energizer bunny of the office, with a personality described as outgoing and spunky. She has a sarcastic sense of humor, loves spending time taking care of her dogs and her 5 gold fish. Jocelyn is a student at Cypress College with aspirations of becoming a marriage/family counselor. She is an avid Lakers and Dodgers fan, so when you come in and see Jocelyn, make sure you are up to date with the latest talk about sports.
Monica Diaz
Monica is another one of Eastgate Optometry Care's experienced optometric assistants. She has almost 8 years of optical experience and posseses thorough knowledge in lens products and frame design. Monica is a great frame stylist and extremely helpful in finding a great look for her patients. She loves fashion and is very excited to present patients with the latest fashion trends. Monica is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a degree in marketing and advertising. Monica is a LA Dodger fan who really enjoys attending their games. She enjoys running, working out at the gym, shopping, and keeping up with make-up trends. She loves spending as much time as possible with her family, friends and her two dogs Kuma and Coco. |
